Finally got the red crystal
Best strat seems to be doing a small number of invasions daily rather than 20+ invasions in one day.
Based on my experience and the some of the reported experiences of others, it seems like drops rates are higher when done daily than ground out in one day.
I’d argue do 3 invasions anytime you feel like pursuing it and then capping it after that if you don’t get it. Priority contracts take 3 runs daily in contested zones so I wouldn’t be surprised if bungie had some similar drop rate system for crystals

1 ReplyThere is no strat. You get it when you get it. Just don’t over stress it or rage. It’s invasions. They don’t matter win or lose.

9 RepliesIt is rng, there is no strats. You got it on let's say game 20 because you hit the lucky number, not because you took some pauses.

1 ReplyI did my first invasions ever this morning. The first was normal and the two following it were double crosses. I lost the third and still got the crystal to drop. I finally hit up Equilibrium today with a friend as well, had a fun duo clear, and got the crystal my first run. Still hunting the crystals on Mars and Europa though. Sometimes RNG will bless us, sometimes RNG will curse us. 🤷🏻♂️

Thats not how rng works lol. It will drop when it drops whether you do 1 or 100 runs in a day. I did 3 total and got it. My friend took 20 its all just rng. Like the taken crystal my friend got first run took me 22. Rng sucks.

I had the opposite experience, I did more, but wagered all I had each time. And by the 2nd max wager, I got it. I think it's just that b.s. rng, that's all. Some will have similar experiences, others different. They just want youbon that hamster wheel thats all

I just want it cause it ups the damage in PVP by 20% JK. Wish I knew how to do the spoiler tag. Wonder if more people would slam the invasion que.

Congrats, but there is no strat to getting it. It's all rng. Some get it first invasion, some on the 100th, and others anywhere in between. I got mine 1 night I was determined to get it, and just kept invading back to back until it dropped.

Congrats! Got mine a little while ago. Still working on the dark crystal as well. Good thing the dungeon is pretty fun!

I personally think it should not be RNG but by achieving something, RNG means you don’t have to be bad, good or a beast! Just being a lucky mediocre invader you got a chance. I’ve done many excellent and poor invasions and nada 👎🏼
