Malfeasance final step needs to be changed... Seriously Bungie.

THIS -blam!- IS ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO SOLO There is no way to complete the final step if you are not a pro in gambit and have no friends who play this dying game. So it is basically impossible to do in 2026, I have been trying to do this one specific mission since 2019 and not a single time has anyone on my team including me has gotten a "Army of One" medal. (before any of you tell me it's a skill issues, yeah no -blam!- it's a skill issue.) It doesn't even feel worth it at this point. I feel like i am wasting my time, the corrupted mission variant solo was easier than obtaining even just one "Army of One" medal in gambit. I don't understand why this -blam!- has not be changed at all in the last several years when other missions have been reworked to make things even the slightest bit easier not to mention you need 3 Army of One medals and 25 invader kills to complete said mission and the fact that no one wants to play gambit anymore actually makes this damn near impossible to complete unless you are a pro in gambit. Getting invader kills is not the problem, the problem is getting even just one "Army of One" medal let alone -blam!- 3 of them for a gun that people barely even use. I literally never see anyone use it in gambit, in any match making game modes like gambit, crucible or strikes/grandmaster strikes. Never once. Bungie, if you don't want people to have the gun then just get rid of it like you did everything else such as all the stuff you -blam!- vaulted after people paid money for it... it makes zero sense at all to keep it in the game if it is luck/RNG based. Doing a raid alone is 100x easier than doing this mission alone. Nothing about this mission screams "worth the frustration and time wasted". (EDIT: Quest was bugged and it wouldn't count the "Army of One" part. I had to get rid of it and re-collect it before it started counting towards it and spoiler alert, it was not worth it. Malfeasance is booty cheeks compared to any other hand cannon i own, it does less damage to taken enemies than any other gun and about the same damage to invaders that any other gun does to invaders... IMO you are better off using thorn or any other hand cannon honestly and getting the catalyst for Malfeasance was easier than getting the gun which is honestly pretty 'tarded.)

  • It's not as hard as you think. You will get it when you invade and find the other team all huddled in a single area focused on damaging the Primeval. Nova bomb them and clean up any stragglers. I believe I managed to get it done the same day I started trying. The one that I'm currently having trouble with is the Mission Control aspect of Sniper Rifle Mastery in the Deadeye triumph. Allegedly you have to headshot two guardians in crucible without reloading or dying. So first you have to collect enough special ammo to attempt without reloading. Then you have to successfully pull it off. I did it 3 times last night in control yet did not get the achievement because apparently you also have to be at long range or they don't count.

    • Using a 450RPM machine gun gets me those medals mostly, 49 total. All solo play. Just be sure to bank before you invade, don't be that person.

        • It’s definitely possible to do solo. I recommend using a roaming super when you invade. Something with speed. I main Strand Hunter and often use the infinite grapple to chase down enemies. Snipers and scouts are also good if the other team is distracted (if they’re not, they may just hide from you). I see other players doing well with machine guns. A full team wipe is tough though, so it may take time to achieve. If you’ve been playing lots over the years and never even had a teammate get one, you’ve been *really* unlucky. I see them regularly (from myself and/or teammates/enemies). Not every match, but enough to say they’re fairly common. To the point I’m wondering if your quest is bugged?
