I am on the Xbox Series S. Ever since the Renegades update released in December 2026, I have been unable to sign in to Destiny 2. I have a valid game pass subscription, a stable internet connection, and the Xbox servers are up and running as well. I am only experiencing this issue with Destiny 2, not with other games. I have power-cycled, hard-reset, cleared the cache, reset my router, and reinstalled the game, but it is still not working. Please fix this issue.

1 ReplyHi there, Thank you for reaching out. Error code STINGRAY on Xbox generally means Destiny 2 isn’t able to confirm the required Xbox/Game Pass entitlements or online subscription with the platform, even when other games work and your line quality looks good. Because it’s tied to how Xbox reports your access to us, it can show up only in Destiny 2. Since you’ve already power‑cycled, hard‑reset, cleared cache, reset your router, and reinstalled, the only extra things that can sometimes help are: On the console, sign out of every profile, then sign back in only with the one that owns Game Pass / Xbox Live Gold and Destiny 2, and try launching Destiny 2 from the Store page or Game Pass library (to rule out any old/beta build links). On that same profile, double‑check that online multiplayer is working on at least one other Game Pass title that requires the same subscription level (not just offline games). Remove and re‑add your Xbox profile on the console (Settings → Account → Remove accounts; then add it back and test Destiny 2 again). If you have another Xbox or regularly sign in elsewhere, make sure you’re not signed in on a second console at the same time when you try to launch Destiny 2.
