They attempted to fix it, but the fix didn't work for everyone. As you're on Xbox, there was a workaround that worked for some people that I saw that involved entering the elevator and then going to the dashboard for 5-8 seconds then opening D2 again and that helped avoid the deaths. Some have reported that it did close the D2 app though, so that's a risk.
