Just some closing week thoughts for you all
The biggest thing is, thank you. Your response to our comms this week has injected our team with so much energy and hope, please know that
The next is, I know there are a lot of questions on the how, what, when of unvaulting. Including any potential future updates to D2 and what’s beyond for Destiny
There’s going to be a very intentional process for all of it that will take time. But over the next few weeks (targeting prior to the end of October) we’ll talk about what our first step is going to look like with more clarity
But instead of a traditional ‘roadmap’ comms I’d rather talk about it through the lens of a progress bar. Bring you all closer, more consistently to our dev milestones. And just be transparent about any challenges we run into and show you the proof of work along the way that unlocks further understanding
That way when we share a release date we’re all on the same page and have the right expectations that leads directly into how we'll further celebrate Destiny's legacy and vision for the future
So, talk more soon. Keep your eyes up.

The same old people with their same old shallow hate to peddle are crawling out of the woodwork. Stupid. How is it the same old Bungie when all of the people are new? Not reading the EULA is no excuse for not understanding what you agreed to. You need Bungie servers to play. How long are they obligated to provide that? Forever? Are they obligated to update old content so you can play it with your current character? Some of you people just don't think - or just don't care if your hate makes sense. Why are you interacting with a situation you find so negative? Smell some flowers. Touch a boob. You're just coming across as pathetic losers. Quit trying to harsh our buzz. Your attention addiction monkey is old, it smells, and it's not welcome around here any more

1 ReplyEdited by IamMeh!: 9/26/2026 2:35:14 AMI swear, some of you people just can't take any news, you are just determined to be completely and totally miserable. Just leave if it hurts you this much. And I am not directing this at you OP, I am aiming it at the sad sacks in your post that just have to -blam!- no matter what

13 RepliesIt’s mind-boggling how negative some people can be, when these guys have just been doing the right things so far. They communicated, they acknowledged the harm done, they committed to repairing with the unvaulting and to the future of the franchise. You can’t expect more than that in a week.

2 RepliesEdited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 9/27/2026 2:48:06 PMI'd say Sony cleaned house. Now that almost all the senior and veteran developers are gone, Destiny 2 will get a practically brand-new team. They are different, and they will work differently—including bringing back the content that Luke & Co. removed. Over the years, there were reports of toxic working conditions and scandals; those initially responsible are likely gone now too. For the first time, with exceptions like Catarina Macedo and Joe Blackburn, things will be seriously different and a lot better from now on. I believe in the new team. They have a completely clean "record", but it will take time. Edit: Text correction

4 RepliesAs much as I really wanna trust them with on this, years of being jaded with bad decisions and "We're listening" is bringing out the skeptic in me. The team is significantly diminished compared to how it used to be, whether for good or bad, and having their focus split between working both on Marathon(which has missed the mark since the Server Slam week) and the uphill battle of making D2 whole again? They're definitely not making the revenue internally to keep themselves afloat. Unless Sony is willing to keep injecting funds to prevent studio closure, I don't realistically see them juggling this herculean task especially after recent events in the gaming sphere with certain studios missing the mark and ultimately ending up being gutted.

thx for relaying... so we might hear something end of october.. maybe.. way to ice momentum fellas -
Good that leadership has changed. Truly. On another note, could bungo please for the love of the Traveler bring back Michael Salvatori? Please?
-
Not a lot of people know what “accountability” is and “leadership” is but reading this is exactly what it is. Taking charge, communicating with the community, and keeping everyone on the same page. This is an extremely good sign and people don’t realize how good this type of clarity and communication from a head of a company is.

5 RepliesMeh ! So the content they took away which we paid is being given back . D2 isn’t a live game anymore …d2 is what it is now .
-
maybe with the unvaulting the "new player experience" becomes more friendly and less sloppy or distorted..or half of what it should be. that'd be nice
-
Of course that was not copied to the forums or this web site. This is a serious part of the comms problem! They talk in one arena only, when a few button clicks puts in multiple locations for ALL to read. They are not starting out well if they intend good communications!
-
Just please give us FoTL and the Dawning. I know it’s not live service anymore but what does it take? I’ll come do it for free.
-
24 RepliesProgress bar instead of a roadmap, ie flying by the seat of their pants with no future plan. Like I said; nothing to be hyped about
-
I have no real expectations. I just hope at some point all of the vaulted crucible maps come back, especially the death donut.

Thanks for sharing on here.
