This was certainly a dark chapter... perhaps you decided to take Assault's advice after all? :) Seriously, though, this was great. Certainly not anything that I'm used to reading. As you said, perhaps it's part of your evolution as a writer. In that case, I can't wait to see what the rest of this novel will be like.
