Teenagers are the worst

I'm sorry, but it's true. No, I don't mean teenagers NOW, or that generation, or "kids these days"; I mean the years 13-19 in a person's life. I realize most of you are teenagers. Teens are some of the most needy, demanding, trying-so-hard-to-be-cool people there are, to the point where it's painful and cringe-worthy to see them interacting with each other in public. So much YOLO; so much SWAG. They're so blissfully unaware of their surroundings or how their actions affect other people. I wish I could blame it on tv, movies, or current culture, but the fact remains that I did that kind of shit when I was a teen, and so did my parents. How you you feel about teenagers?

  • ^OP. 1. Teenagers are at the point in life when their want for material wealth is increasing at a rate much quicker than their maturity, so it's natural that they're "needy" and "demanding". Teens change more in six years (ages 13-18) than they do in any other six year period of their life except perhaps maybe birth to 6. They're not like that for long. 2. What's wrong with wanting to have class in the way that you dress (the definition of "swagger", which can be shortened to "swag")? Looking good is an extension of the teenage (male) need for attention from the opposite sex as their sexual realization, want, and awareness is growing at a rate similar to their want for material wealth in relation to maturity. Guys want the V. Girls want good-looking guys. Guy makes self good looking via class and/or swag. Girl wants guy. Girl wants D. Guy gets V. 3. I think the study of teenagers is something that should be done more often. They can be some of the most insightful, innovative, and creative minds at times under the right circumstances. This is owing mainly to the perfect balance of flourishing maturity and a persistence of a childlike sense of creativity and carefree attitude. I feel this should be celebrated much more often than it is.
