Even if you would never return home? You would be travelling faster than light to get there. So it would only take about a week or so.
The planet in question would be fairly earth like. Water, and Oxygen. It might be slightly bigger or smaller then the Earth, and what kind of life on it would be a mystery. It might be in its infancy. Basic Lifeforms living in the oceans. Or it might be a planet inhabited by an intelligent alien race.
If you decided to go; what would you want to find out first about the new world?
-
I think I would so long as I had internet and supplies like medicine and food. I think I would first like to examine the local flora.
-
If I could take someone with me. And possibly towards the end of my life.
-
Yeah. If it's that fast, everyone I know can come if we start settling it :D
-
After I've seen all of this one.
-
I would probably go, yeah. I'd like to find out if life was sustainable and then make a house.
-
If I was able to survive the G-Forces of light speed travel, and if the life on the other planet isn't hostile, then yes I would.
-
Nope. Not unless I absolutely had to..
-
I'll be on the next flight.
-
Always bring gifts and bring the best food the Earth has to offer. The inhabitants of that planet will like you right away.
-
No. With current space travel technology I would never arrive there in my lifetime. Now if this is a Star Wars universe, and we had light speed and could be anywhere in hours, sure. But Jar-jar's days would be numbered.
-
Hell yea.
-
At first I would be hesitant about it, but then I would go. Would there be any other humans on this planet?
-
That would just be too good an experience to pass up.
-
Of course! I'd go before you even had time to finish asking the question!
-
Probably not, unless there was a worldwide crisis on Earth, but I'd definitively support the effort.
