How similar does a name have to be before it's impersonation?

Everyone knows the rule which has been brought in since we could change our usernames. But how similar can the name be, before it counts as impersonation? Exactly the same? Enough that they can easily be mistaken? I noticed a certain multi-legged food item and an unusually numbered recon getting around the forum today. Is comedic purposes okay?

  • Bungie allows display names now simply because there are people with the same real name. Using your real name for your display name is fine, but using another person's unique ID as your display name is not a good idea, especially if the user that has the unique ID is an active poster or if the unique ID is nothing close to a real name.
