Why are the replies backwads?
Whenever I enter a new thread. It shows the OP and then as you scroll down the posts go in order of newest to oldest instead of the opposite.
Wouldn't it make more sense to put the older posts irst in a thread instead of the newer ones? that way you can follow conversations.

Honestly, I think they are more appropriate this way. Under the old system, once several pages of replies were accumulated, much more often than not new participants to conversations would simply read the OP and reply with their thoughts. This was a problem because it ignored 99% of the conversation in the thread (much of which is restatement, because no one bothers reading through 9 pages of posts). With this system, the most recent, relevant posts are immediately visible, allowing a conversation to evolve and progress instead of most people saying the same thing. We want to encourage community and the exchange of ideas, and that means that we need ideas to evolve. This system will allow for that, hopefully.
