With the new site running I thought it would be interesting to facilitate a discussion on one of it's most potent new features, tagging. The system seeks, in my opinion, to make the 'individual forum board' obsolete. With the simple act of tagging #Community and #Flood you've reached twice the amount of users you would have on the Halo era B.net. Bringing your ideas to a broader audience only scratches the surface of what can be done with this new feature, but I believe there should be a set of 'standard tags' that members can use to engage the community with a greater accuracy and efficiency.
Current Forum Tags:
#Community
#bungie
#Septagon
#offTopic
#Halo
#Destiny
These function as the old forum boards did in that you've only chosen a location to place your thread. These are the common, 'primary' ,tags that one would use on the site. I will argue that standardizing a set of secondary tags will allow for a better Bnet experience.
Gaming: I wander onto Bnet in search for some people to play my favorite bungie game, lets say it's ODST. How can I use the tagging system to efficiently find a party of people to play the Halo game ODST? I will first set a Primary tag: #Gamenight for the thread. This places the thread in a general category for those who are not looking for a specific game. In this case, we are setting up for a specific game so a Secondary Tag:, PlayODST, is needed. This can go on and on.
Suggested Gamenight tags
P: #Gamenight
S: #PlayCE
#Play2
#Play3
#PlatODST
#PlayReach
What do you think? How would you use the system? Do you think there should be some standardized taggs that the community should use?

Bringing your ideas to a broader audience
Okay, I have a girl problem.. let me just #flood #bungie #septagon, let me just hashtag all the goddamn forums that don't need to hear my girl problems, but because I want a wider audience, I'm going to do it anyway... Do you not see what is wrong with that? The moderators use to redirect things that weren't in the proper place. Now we can have our topic in every single place. There is a reason moderators use to redirect threads. Because somethings are just off-topic for where they are put. I wouldn't go asking the bungie community about my girl problems, but it's something I'd ask the flood. Now I can just put it out there for everyone to see, and this CLUTTERS THE HELL OUT OF THE FORUMS, or whatever you call this mashed up mangled abomination.
