Why not allow the possible multi-billion dollars industries of cocaine, weed, ect?

I'm in favor of more rehab and less jail time. Also, get into the inner city and revamp their education systems; that will help combat the massive gang problems and therefore drug use.

But the whole "drugs increase crime so lets ban them" is based on terrible circular logic. Banning anything and making it a crime will create essentially create crime out of thin air. The only crime I have seen as a result of weed is sheer retardation and that's just the kind of people who flaunt doing an illegal activity.
