So, what was that about AR-15s not being good for self defense?

Edited by a dyin hobo: 1/12/2013 1:16:52 AMWhat that boy did was pretty neat. I don't think that I am ready to support stricter gun laws. Assault rifle bans, hunting rifle bans, firearms bans, etc. I mean, who's to say that putting these kinds of laws into effect will actually stop the common criminal or drug dealer from down the street from getting a hold of these sort of things illegally? Just because it's written down as illegal on paper, doesn't mean that it's going to physically stop us or them, whoever, from owning these sort of things or getting a hold of these things illegally. Violent crimes and attacks, like the shooting at the elementary school in CT, and the other at the theater over the summer, are going to keep happening. It's just the way of the world. It's a -blam!-ed up place. And the only way we can truly begin to prevent incidents, crimes, etc. like this of this measure from ever happening again, is by donating to mental health research. Seriously. We need to start helping people with mental problems more, to better their lives, so that they can better handle lifes struggles and then maybe we can all avoid another incident like the mass shootings that went on this past year. I appreciate that Liberals are really pushing for better gun regulations, but I don't really think that passing any law is really going to make much of an impact as we like to think. The problem won't be solved right then and there as much as we wish it would. Sorry I went off on a tangent here about gun control. Just thought I'd get my voice out there.
