I hear it on the forums somewhat frequently, the notion of how amazing it would be to work at Bungie. How many people really want that though?
For video games, I would rather play the finished product with all of its magic, rather than be in it from the start. Then again, my career is pretty far from the video game making world anyway, so making games is never a career I considered.
Do you want to work at Bungie / in the gaming industry? I admit, if I did want to work in gaming, Bungie has an amazing work environment - a model that is healthy and successful for any organization.

Absolutely! I also agree that being involved throughout the full cycle would detract from the excitement of fresh campaign and especially blind raids. But, in reality, those experiences are awesome, but they only happen once, and since I raid every weekend, I would still love it. My career is miles from video game development, but I'm at a point where I would appreciate at change in career. I would seriously love to be a part of making Destiny. A position in which my career is playing, improving, and developing an awesome franchise like Destiny, and of course more at the end of Destiny's life cycle (dare I say it). If I'm ever offered the opportunity to join the team at Bungie, I'll be packing straight away!

I'd like to be NIS' s assistant.
-
if i had the skills to work there i would send in a job application right away

After what happened with Marty I'm not so sure. But to be honest I wouldn't like developing games anyways.

I'm a graphic designer and by june of 2015 i'll be a developer. Considering that where I live i couldn't obtain a practice job related with my careers, having the trust from the people of bungie to work with them, learn from them, even maybe form active part on the design of a game from the beggining, it will be wonderful, i will recover hope, and i will take each day working at bungie as a precious treasure. But that won't happen xD. But well it comes a moment in your live when you are bored of playing games or seeing movies and you want to be involved in the creative procesos of making one, or even direct the creation of a game. A moment un life when you feel stuck that you can't grow more without having people that are better than you to learn from them, share experiences, discover things, proof yourself useful. But meanwhile i have to work every second by making the road wich will put me on a crossroad that cross with tye Bungie path. Greetings from Spain.

I would absolutely love to work at bungie, purely because if the environment and the perks. I have no interest in making video games though, so unless bungie make a position I could see myself doing, there is absolutely 0% chance of me ever working there.

Edited by Hostile AKs: 8/16/2014 4:57:22 AMOh course bungie has an amazing work environment. They show up probably around 12:30pm. the office is only lit by monitors so im sure its easy to "brain storm" aka nap. So, I applied for the postion: "Master of the Custodial Arts"
or a janitor if you want to be a dick about it
I would love to work for bungie... right after I get several years of programming experience.
-
(*¯︶¯*) I would but I'm going to go on my own path and fulfil my destiny to make great games too just like destiny I'm working on one right now as we speak.
-
Yeah! I'm working my way towards a degree in Computer Science. Bungie has been my dream job for as long as I can remember.
-
Edited by JUDGE LUCO: 8/13/2014 10:31:39 PMI'd like to do building security. I'd love to work for a gaming studio especially Bungie but I have no "game making" skills. I've been a cop and have done private security.

While playing the game from the start would lose some steam, I think seeing everyone else experiencing it for the first time would be much more gratifying. Playing Halo and falling in love with that franchise is what sparked my initial interest in Computer Science and has brought me to where I am today. About to go into my last year of school, so we'll see where things take me. Degree comes before everything. :) I live in Tennessee, so Seattle would be a far move for me. If I was able to get a job there, however, I would jump at the opportunity.
-
It would be a dream. I agree I love playing finished games. For me I love art and story telling and that would just to be a dream to create something people wanted to buy.
-
From what I've picked up throughout the Internet, games developing is a lot like the movie industry. Companies come and go, jobs are fluid and depend on how good the finish product is. Very similar to the movie industries it seems.

My bro deos game programming and its realy freaking complex

Edited by NotTheVillain: 8/10/2014 12:31:09 AMNo. I really considered going to college to become a videogame environment artist (not the real name of the field, don't remember what it was called), and I also looked into what it was really like to be a game tester (after watching Grandma's Boy). It seemed to me that working in the videogame industry is quite stressful and demanding, and I ultimately decided not to pursue an education for those careers. I enjoy the final product of the games I play, but if I did work in the videogame industry I would shoot for a job at Bethesda. No disrespect to Bungie, I just enjoy Bethesdas games more.
-
I've been wanting to work for them since grade school. Now keep in mind I'm starting college this year but graduated last year. Just need to refine my skills and take the desired coarse.
-
No I just really enjoy playing the games they make for us.
-
I personally would love to work for bioware. I love rpgs.
-
I am a big fan of video games and designing them would be pretty neat, but to be honest I think it would ruin games for me. Id know how to fix things that are wrong in the games I play and it would just drive me insane to not be able to fix them. I can't work for everyone, so I can't fix the flaws I see.
-
I would absolutely love to. I intend to turn my networking degree into some form of game-related career if all goes as planned, but honestly, I've always assumed my online presence here would probably be more detrimental than beneficial to the hope of one day working for Bungie. --Interview-- "So, have you ever visited our online community?" "Erm.... no."

Edited by Al Gore: 5/7/2014 9:31:03 PMYes. So much yes. It's my dream to make games. Then I don't have to be stuck in my shitty family business.
-
Edited by Jessica: 12/16/2013 2:13:53 AMi think it'd be kind of neat to work in such a low pressure environment but honestly they still can't afford me.

I would love to be an alpha/in house tester for Bungie! The chance to help developers fix problems that really frustrate gamers would be a dream. The opportunity to be part of a team that works years to produce an amazing product is what I live for. Be the way I have been a high school teacher for 14 years. I understand the principle of slowly tweaking project until it's perfect. I wish the Bungie team all the best and don't rush it out. Take your time and release the perfect vision of your game! Happy holidays!

No, I don't want to work at Bungie, and no, I don't want to work in the video games industry.
