I know they are a right wing news channel (for the most part) but that alone should not make the news they cover invalid. Every now and then I see some dumb things; for example the episode of the Factor where Bill O'Reilly got a psychologist to try and find the "meaning" behind Gangnam Style. But every news station does something stupid every now and then, the occasional blunder is expected.
Ever since the presidential election last year I've had my tv on Fox News. So I've been watching it for quite a while and I just can't find where the hate for this channel comes from.
Could someone explain to me what's wrong with this news channel?
(On a side note watching Fox News actually helped me get through my college geography class; I knew what was going on in the world, and probably the only one in my class that actually knew what the teacher was talking about.)

FOX is shit and anyone who think it's quality is dumd.
-
Can't remember if it was Fox or CNN who reported that Obamacare didn't pass an hour before the decision was made then changed to saying it did pass. There are also several other reasons but I don't feel like typing them out.
-
Because they make up everything! Seriously, they lie about all of their stories to sensationalise them! I know they all do it but Fox News is the most -blam!-ing annoying group.

Edited by SlLVER CRlMS0N: 1/25/2013 11:45:37 PMMhmm. Watch it.

Because a better, more truthful name for them would be 'Faux News'. You can't honestly believe half the stuff they say, can you? They are horribly biased, more so than NBC to the left, and associate themselves with figures like Glen Beck and Palin. Fountain of lies my friend, and while NBC is bad, they're not that bad.

Edited by OaklandPaintbalr: 1/25/2013 11:07:35 PMBecause they make blunders on a regular basis "Tides go in, tides go out. You can't explain that!" I've never heard anything more stupid in life. That, to me, made it abundantly clear that he doesn't know anything about science.

Fox News Channel is bad because they're biased and also because they make believe things that aren't true (to some extent). In Government class I watched a documentary on media and how they cover the news and all. The documentary brought Fox News and all they had to say was criticisms. I remember they had an example - Fox News was covering a LGBT rally or something like that and from the video report they had made seem like there was tons of million supporters when in reality there was only a couple thousand. It turns out they had taken footage from a different rally from like 2004 with millions of supporters and edited the clips to fit together to make it seem like the LGBT rally had millions of supporters. The documentary pointed this out because there was a weather contrast in the news report, one shot showed white clouds (LGBT rally) and the next shot (2004 rally) showed dark grey clouds that were about to rain. Fox News is just a whole bunch of lies. And dont event get me start on O'Reilly ----> America's biggest idiot. I bet people only watch Fox News to watch Bill yell at people.

because they do stupid stuff.
-
I found the answer to your question.
the occasional blunder is expected.
Why, yes. Occasional blunder are completely expected. Problem is, is that Fox News is so bias that it's hard, if not impossible, to form an opinion based off their "news". All media is biased to a certain extent but Fox takes it to a strange extreme.
-
(probably the only one in my class that actually knew what the teacher was talking about.)
You probably were!
-
Lol this is a gold mine.
-
Calling it a news channel is quite generous.
-
Did you say you saw ONE episode of Bill o Rielly to be stupid? Look him up on youtube. He "interviews" people without even letting them talk. Since he yells louder he wins every debate.

Edited by Teh Panda: 1/25/2013 7:41:14 PMBecause FOX shits bias out of it's ass 24/7 and then they tell themselves they don't

Their pundits are idiotic. They're so incredibly biased, it isn't even funny. They've never said anything positive about Obama except for when he does something to appease Republicans, and even then they cry about how he doesn't do enough. There's a reason that Fox News's audience is the worst-informed of any cable news outlet. Because their news is almost entirely right-wing propaganda. The best example of them doing all they can to be Republican for the sake of it was on election night when they went down to the newsroom to question their experts on their projection that Obama would win Ohio, to try to make it seem like Romney still had a chance and got totally shot-down by the experts. They argued and argued Nate Silver's findings up until the last possible moment, constantly insulting him and predicting that Romney had upwards of a 70 or 80% chance of winning when there was no poll around that showed this.

If you hate Fox you're stupid and can't form your own opinions. Go cry to MSNBC if you get butthurt you liberal sheep.

Edited by annoyinginge: 1/25/2013 7:35:14 PMSure, every news station does dumb things. But none as regularly or as spectacularly as Fox. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5C2gihnEkE

What I find hilarious, everyone hates Fox News and critcizes it, but when it comes down to it, they Crush everyone else when it comes to ratings. No one actually likes MSNBC, CNN, or NBC. Or at least that is what the ratings seem to have me believe.

Bias new sucks.
-
Liberals are no stranger to hate. Which is annoying because they are supposed to be the party of love and understanding.
-
I thought it was sill y that Fox didn't cover the inauguration.
-
They're incredibly biased, often misinform their viewers and can exhibit behaviors that are borderline toddler level maturity.
-
Because he's just OdorousLicense using a dumb username.

I find all the news channels a waste of time.
-
Edited by Butane: 1/25/2013 9:17:41 AMI hate all of the cable news networks. Edit: I do like Shepard Smith if he's still on there.

I'm not surprised that if you only watch Fox you don't see the problem.
