So I've been reading up on Islam and it sems to have a much more detailed explanation of God than Christianity. And also preaches love and tolerance, unlike Christianity where everyone condemns everything and twists their own book to suit their nees. The "terorists" are like christians too, they use a book as motive but never actually practice its meaning and decieves others. Except christians aren't violent.
Anyone else agree?
-
1) islam can be very violent 2) to islamics, its either you except their religion as the true religion or its the highway
-
You clearly don't know a lot about Christianity.
-
1. Doesn't the Qur'an have open-ended commands to kill Christians and the like? 2. Jesus told us we are to love others as ourselves, love and forgive our enemies, help people, etc. 3. Any Christian who thinks they can commit an act of terrorism based on what the Bible said should read it again; there is no command in the New Testament that justifies killing others.

Christianity and Islam are both equally silly and false.
-
Kind of funny, since they both are based on the same religion.

Matthew 5 21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.(also note the "judgement" here is judgement by God not by humans) anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court.(again court of God, not human) And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. 23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. 38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Jesus preached plenty of love and tolerance, almost exclusively, a lot of Christians just choose to ignore it because it doesn't fit their right wing agenda.

Actually, the Koran speaks about things that would've been impossible at the time to know about, such as the human fetus, how mountains are formed, how the bottom of sea beds look like, the earth was round, etc. Also note the Koran has never been changed.

Islam causes the most violence.
preaches love and tolerance, unlike Christianity where everyone condemns everything and twists their own book to suit their nee[d]s.
I'm confused, could you perhaps point to me where in New Testament I am instructed to condemn their enemies and hate them and hold prejudice against them? Because I seem to only find things like Romans 13:8 "Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law." Or Roman 14:3-4 "Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another...?" Or John 8:7-11 "...'let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.' And once more he bend down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?' She said, 'No one, Lord.' and Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.'" Seems pretty loving and tolerating to me.

But neither religion can show me one thing. Evidence that a God exists.
-
Religion is just silly. I go by one rule, Do good things and good things will happen to you.
-
The issue is that most Americans are completely ignorant on what Islam actually consists of. The terrorist attacks that have been conducted in the name of Islam are no more than political outrages that look for religious credence. The same applies with Christianity and the KKK.

The god of Islam is the same of Christianity. I have studied both. Older Islam did in fact preach peace. But that has changed since Islam spilt thousands of years ago. Christians are not supposed to condemn. That is taught in the Bible. There are many problems with in religion today. Such as radial Islam and Christians who take the Bible over the top. I am a Christian. I do my best every day not to condemn or judge others for it is not my place. But like everyone I don full short.
-
And also preaches love and tolerance, unlike Christianity where everyone condemns everything and twists their own book to suit their nees.
They both preach that, and they both have people who ignore that message in favor of their own twisted interpretation.
-
Not really. That is why you have some that kill and some that don't.

Christians aren't violent? The Crusades are just one example and there are many more.
