I mean surely the requirement to see certain shades of blue and green mingled together shouldn't be the be all and end all? It's not like I'll be flying a jet or anything, ffs.
-
Maybe this will clarify things.
-
Being colorblind will just be too much of a liability. I think the US is a little more lenient, but they've been really cracking down lately, so I'm not too sure.
-
Being colorblind would cause too big of a risk to have you responsible for people's lives and military hardware. It might not affect you 90% of the time, but that 10% could endanger you or others

Ok. So since I was told this is for the Irish Army, this means nothing then. Why? Irish Army by themselves... do nothing. It's like having a military base in a state that has its own boarders surrounding it. BUT no one on guard. LOL. On the plus side, you won't have to worry about... well death.
-
Why do you want to join the Irish Army if they don't do anything?
-
Cut your eyes out in front of them, they'll let you in. Because you're hardcore and that shows dedication.
-
What does the 'A' stand for?
-
Why is that a bad thing? Now you wont be shot at.
-
You can still get in I believe. When I went through MEPs one kid found out he was colorblind there, he just had to switch his MOS.
-
Since you said the Irish Army, they literally do nothing.
-
That's kinda odd, here in the US they had colorblind people during Vietnam because they could see camouflaged enemies easier.
-
I hate to say it, but you're out of luck.
-
I came in here expecting a subtle reference to red vs blue. I'm disappointed.
-
What if you have to disarm a bomb?
-
Being able to discern certain colors is pretty important. Regardless of the country you live in. The idea isn't that you PROBABLY would never be in a war, its that you COULD be in one. They have to be selective about that kind of thing.
-
Color blindness is technically a disability.
-
OK, so I understand you may seem upset. Simple scenario: Which wire do you cut if you have to dispose a bomb?
-
Well that's just a lie. You can join, you're just limited in what jobs you can do. We're talking US Army, right?
-
It's an excuse. The Army is cutting down in personal and budget so they are trying to not take any new people at this moment.
-
It's important OP If you can't differentiate the red and blue team, you're screwed
-
Edited by Yuno: 1/27/2013 6:39:55 PMHa! Ha! Everyone, point and laugh at the OP

That sucks.
