Pessimistic view is pessimistic. AAA titles are far from dead, they just take a while to develop.
-
Welp. Looks like that's the end. Darksiders is dead. The series had such potential...
Hilarious. 10/10
The AAA breed died sooner than I thought.
You can't be serious or maybe you just live in another world.
Dynamite devs like Bioware, Blizzard, Bungie...ALL LEFT BURNING IN MEDIOCRITY BECAUSE OF GREEDY PUBLISHERS!
Bioware is not what it used to be true, mainly because EA power over them. But the rest? you must be joking. Blizzard still continues to make great games, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 (which even though i didn't lived up to the hype is still a great game), WoW still continues to be number #1 and Titan their next MMO project will probably blow people minds away. Bungie? not sure if serious. They haven't made a bad game that i know of, and if you think otherwise... then shit you don't know what a bad game is!
-
But I won't be able to...because the majority of THIS DYING WORLD like to buy overhyped, over-advertised, buggy messes of games from publishers like EA and Activision, rather than supporting innovative publishers like THQ.
THQ didn't go under because they published 'innovative' games, they went under because they published consistently mediocre big budget titles, and the occasional shockingly bad one, like Homefront.
Dynamite devs like Bioware, Blizzard, Bungie...ALL LEFT BURNING IN MEDIOCRITY BECAUSE OF GREEDY PUBLISHERS!
Haha, what?

OP is a hipster.

I think you lost the shock and awe factor of this news when you failed to mention Warhammer.
-
Least I've still got my Warhammer games due to Sega getting, whatever-the-hell-the-name-of-that-game-dev-is. And no, I tend to hate most shitty indie games, thank you very much. I'll be taking my Crysis 3 and Aliens Colonial Marines, thank you.

Someone tell me how Darksiders was any good; it struck me as a derivative fantasy adventure game.

People are buying games that they like? How can it get any worse than that? Somebody should do something and make them buy the games the OP wants them to buy. We should punishes those selfish bastards. They should know better than to buy the games they want to buy.
Bungie...ALL LEFT BURNING IN MEDIOCRITY BECAUSE OF GREEDY PUBLISHERS!
They made one mediocre game because they wanted to get out of that deal with MS. So they can make their own game. Also Bungie, Bioware and Blizzard are still here. They didn't go anywhere.
Gaming is now in the hands of devs like Edmund McMillen, Frictional Games, Supergiant Games, and Adhesive Games.
Who?
HQ's and Darksider's deaths have brought realization to the rise...of the Indies; the only passionate individuals left in the industry.
Agreed. Games like Happy Wars are defiantly the future of gaming. Screw these AAA games I want my games that are made for 12 year olds.

Right..it's EA and Activision's fault that no one bought their games.
