108 years ago today, the 100 MPH barrier was broken
31 January 1905, British driver Arthur MacDonald drove this 90 HP Napier to a recorded speed of 104.65 MPH.

I can imagine him describing it afterwards; how amazing it must've felt to travel a staggering, impressive, unbelievably extraordinary, impassible 104.65 miles per hour. And now any given hunk-of-junk, used, teen's first car can get up to that. My how the times have changed.
