Iran has unveiled a new home-made combat aircraft, which officials say can evade radar.
The single-seat Qaher F313 (Dominant F313) is the latest design produced by Iran's military since it launched the Azarakhsh (Lightning), in 2007.
President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad said it had "almost all the positive features" of the world's most sophisticated jets.
He said the "development of the Iranian nation's military power is... for deterrence and defensive purposes".
This is probably nothing compared to the capabilities of the West, Russia and China what do you suppose this craft has the strength of compared to other planes?? (What is it equal to)

Looks like they've been playing too much Saints Row the Third. It looks almost like the VTOL from that game.
-
Yeah because that thing is going to out-perform the F35 or F22. lol They think they're so cool don't they?
-
Haters gon hate. Iran investing into aircraft research is a good thing. Maybe They Can get Back on Track with re Modernising the Country. Ill Bet Theyre Tired of Constantly being accused Of planning wMD attacks on everyone.
-
It looks shit It seems like even if it would fly the pilot would suffocate in the cockpit

Looks like it's fake. Even if it is real, what they showed is a scaled-down mockup that's missing some key design features--like nozzles for the jet engine and sufficiently large air intakes and sufficiently large control surfaces. . .
-
I hope Iran take over the world.
-
Looks like a hybrid of a Su-47 and F-117.

lol"New" lol"Stealth" lol"Fighter" lol"F313" lolIran

Edited by Courageous Mike: 2/3/2013 12:28:09 AMTen bucks says that it was based off of the technology from the stealth drone that crashed in Iran last year. I googled it, and it even looks like an F-22...

Edited by Recon Number 54: 2/2/2013 10:03:01 PMI am curious as to its true stealthiness. Since the F-117 has a smaller radar reflection than "the pilot's helmet" I am wondering what a big bubble canopy does to cover the radar of that helmet. Also, take a look at the photo. Is it me, or does that canopy glass look like utter hell? There is no way that someone inside of that thing could reliably visually scan or ID other aircraft. Compare what is shown in the Iran release photo to this view through the canopy of (what I think is) an F-15. It has no artifact, no disruption, no ripples or imperfections where in the Iranian photo, you can't even clearly see the state emblem on the back wall of the hangar.

That thing looks about as stealthy as a waffle in a pancake house.
-
So, in other words, Iran created a plane with slants, said 'close enough', and then claimed it was stealth capable? Dose funneh Iranians. I doubt this signifies an actual risk to anyone. In fact, if anything, this is low on the American list of Iranian threats. If the IRGC knows what they're doing, they'll stick to A2/AD weaponry and continue to base their strategies around those systems.

I love how they say that every new military toy they create is "only for the defense of the peace loving people of the worrld" Because this thing? "Karrar"? That's an offensive weapon system if ever I saw one. It's not only a dead-ringer for a V-1, it's got the same purpose. Drop bombs on targets that are outside of your borders.
-
A stealth jet used for defense? Because they need to avoid the radars of the country they're not attacking.
-
Used for defense my ass
-
We all gon die.
-
Did they reverse-engineer it from our drone?
-
Thing looks like it's made out of Paper Mache. Wonder how it performs at altitude, in a dogfight, and BVR. Badly I assume.
-
It's like the FIAT of fighter Jets. No need for alarm.
-
Thats cute.
