I've been skiing 3 times and thought I'd try out snowboarding this time around. Does it employ a totally different skillset than skiing does or should I pick it up fairly quickly because of my prior experience? I've heard it's harder, but idk.
Also, what resorts near the Denver area do you guys recommend? I'm willing to drive a max of 3 hours.

Your prior experience of skiing will not really help with snowboarding. This is what I tell everyone who comes to the resort i work at, "it's easy to learn skiing but hard to be good at it, and it's hard to learn snowboarding but easy to be good at it". I don't know of any resorts near Denver, I live in southern Ontario.

Snowboarding looks more fun than skiing IMO.

Snowboarders screw up the slopes.

I Ski, well, I did, then I stopped for a couple years and couldn't remember how to slow/stop... Snowboarding isn't difficult- you will likely pick it up fast.
