Death is usually something I am completely apathetic towards because most scenarios I imagine my self dying in are completely out of my control. And there are many preventable deaths I see on the news that most people would find to be somber but I take it in as every day life. I feel that in the event that there is a preventable death, not everyone will take the precautions to prevent them later on in the future, and I can't control what other people do, so I don't worry about it. And when there is a death maybe near me, that I am unaffected by simply because I don't know the person, it is sad to know someone has died but I forget easily and soon. If you're still reading I have a friend who I was talking with last night and she told me that someone's car crashed into a tree in front of her friend's neighborhood. And the texts she sent me pretty much implied she was really depressed by it. I asked her if she was affiliated with the person who died, she told me no. I asked her if she witnessed the accident and was traumatized from it, she told me no. So beyond those two reasons for being depressed about the death, I don't understand at all. Help me understand. Have any of you ever had to psychologically deal with a death that was almost completely unrelated to you?
