This is one step forward. Now it's just Scotland left.
The Commons voted in favour of the The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, by 400 to 175, a majority of 225, at the end of a full day's debate on the bill.
Prime Minister David Cameron has described the move as "an important step forward" that strengthens society.
For once, something right has happened.
EDIT: It needs to go through the House of Lords now..

Good. I don't know why it has taken this long for people to realize they can't force their religious/moral/political beliefs on everyone. I'll admit, I don't believe gay marriage should be practiced in Christianity because of quotes like in Leviticus 18:22 ("You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination."). However, living in Canada, and respecting the beliefs of others, who am I to say no? I can't dictate what they believe and forcing my beliefs on them doesn't do anyone any good. Now, if we could just get our neighbors in the USA to understand they aren't a christian nation anymore and they have no right to force traditional marriage on anyone.
