***STEPS ARE AT THE BOTTOM*** So about a month or 2 ago I got my fancy new phone (HTC DNA). It has Android 4.1 and that's all that really matters for this thread. Xbox SmartGlass requires Android 4.0 or higher. So I can download it....ya, no. Apparently Xbox SmartGlass is NOT compatible with my HTC DNA for some stupid reason even though it's perfectly compatible. So I searched up online for the Xbox SmartGlass apk (apk = Android app) file. I downloaded it to my computer and transferred it onto my phone and installed it using [url=http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funtrigger.appinstaller&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5mdW50cmlnZ2VyLmFwcGluc3RhbGxlciJd]App Installer[/url]. You can also directly download it from your phone and skip the middle man. ***THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL*** How is it not illegal? Well here's why: --------> Xbox SmartGlass is a FREE TO DOWNLOAD app in the Android marketplace. So downloading it from elsewhere and installing it onto your phone is no different. HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED: 1) Android 4.0 or higher. If your phone does not have Android 4.0 or higher, you can find an Android 4.0 custom ROM elsewhere (honestly I dunno where to get them). This is NOT illegal at all either, although it will void your warranty. I found this online and I have downloaded it and installed it myself. I did run a virus scan using both Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes, and no viruses were found. I do realize that this thread will NOT apply to most of you here, but for the few of you that this does apply to you, you're welcome. For some reason Xbox SmartGlass is NOT compatible on all Android devices...yet. This is a quick get-a-round to go ahead and download and use it.
