^^red = misinformation; blue = information.
As per the title, why do you think misinformation travels so much faster than actual, factual, legitimate information?
It seem that every time I come on here and go into any given politically-driven thread, there's always at least one person who's said something false with three or four replies after that post stating how and why that post was false. I think that this is because people definitely realize that if the fire hose of misinformation doesn't have a kink put in it relatively early on, it'll get flowing to a point of erectness (ha, it's funny 'cause penises) where it's impossible to stop the gushing shower of lies.
But why is this thing that everyone seems to be at least subconsciously aware true? Is it because misinformation is usually much more interesting than the boring truth, and thus people are more willing to believe the side of the story which interests them more? Is it because the general public is usually misinformed to some degree on nearly everything they say to some extent, and therefore it's easier to keep believing what they've always believed than change their ideals/ideas/thoughts/opinions?
What're your thoughts BNet/Flood? Why do you think misinformation travels faster than information? Or, do you think information actually travels faster? If so, why?

I would think that misinformation spreads faster because it's less work to get it out there. You don't really have to qualify misinformation.
