Games on the IOS like NFS Most Wanted, Dead Space, Infinity Blade, CoD Zombies, Moderncombat 4, Mass Effect and Dead Space are perfect examples to show the limit of what iPhones can do. Android phones are also just as capable.

Hell now iPhones and Androids can even be used as an emulator now too.
But both the 3ds and Vita have been suffering from low sales. Does anyone here still actively game on handhelds (or would you if pokemon didn't exist)

Yeah, but I'd say it's the arcade-style games like Angry Birds and Temple Run that've made phones the more popular gaming platform. There's no involving storyline or universe in Pac-Man or Snake, and like them, mobile games boil gaming down to simple, addictive gameplay. Players go back to a level not to experience that epic moment again, but instead to beat a high score. Regardless, I'm glad mobile gaming is making its mark: it's bringing much-needed diversity to the industry and community.
