Creative Assembly now owns rights to make Warhammer Games.

Sort of old, I feel like this was swept under the rug. When THQ sold off it's assets in auction Sega acquisitioned Dawn of War developer Relic. Creative Assembly who is also owned by Sega and make quite possibly some of the best strategy games around (Rome: Total War, Medieval, Shogun, etc), look to be tasked with the fantasy universe now. News Release This blows my mind. The gameplay from the total war series would be perfect for warhammer. Thousands of units fighting bloody battles in formations in non-stop war. I don't know if they have also gained rights to 40k but this alone makes me happy for the future that one day they might.

 • That's interesting. I love Total War but have only played Rome Total War (and expansions) and Medieval II Total War (and expansions). The rest have been thwarted by my computer situation. I don't know much about Warhammer but from what I've read and seen it looks like it could be pretty dadgum neat to take some Total War gameplay and move it there. Hopefully Creative Assembly is willing to think outside the box in how they make that transition. And I'd like to see it happen soon. After Rome Total War 2 I think they need to take a break for a while from releasing games in such similar/identical periods: two Romes, two Shoguns, two Medievals, Napoleon + Colonial... time for sci-fi!

 • Sounds good to me. Now all we need is a decent 40k FPS.
