Which is kinda ridiculous considering we (still) don't know much about this game.
I was about to watch "Liam Neeson plays Halo 3" and the ad comes up with the same images and gameplay snippets from earlier today. Nothing new. Just image, text, image, text.
It went:
- Image of Tricon
> From the creators of Halo
- Image of Traveler
> And the publisher of Call of Duty (Why would they want to put that on there?)
- Image of 3 classes (3D models from the Vidoc)
> Comes a bold new adventure
- Cant remember
> That unfolds over the next 10 years
- Can't remember
> Destiny
It wasn't impressive, but it was surprising. Why would they advertise so early?

Edited by Spartan Ken 15: 2/18/2013 9:00:09 PMWhy would they promote the game so early and so heavily f it "supposedly" is not coming out till 2014? I have been seeing Destiny ads pop up a lot already.

TBH advertising concept art is not a smart move and is going to have the opposite effect.
-
Fan out and take screenshots. Drop links to where they're running.
-
It got your attention enough you made a thread about it. So the advertising was successful. That's why.
-
It was the main ad on the front page of youtube for me.
-
The main ad on the first tab of the Xbox 360 Live Main Menu is a Destiny ad. Yay!
-
Most of the time people complain that they start too late. Im ok with them starting early.
-
Tricorn, you say?
-
I don't mind the hype train rolling early.
-
I got one as well.
-
Just got one as well on Tobuscus. Looked to me like there were a couple new shots, but I could be wrong.
-
Haha! That was fast.

Well, Halo and CoD are the two most popular franchises, recently, so they would obviously like to capitalize on this by reaching out to both crowds. That's my take on it.
