I've been looking to buy a new game. Skyrim is pretty popular. What's so good about it. Persuade me. I saw reviews(which rated the game very high) and gameplay. The combat looks very boring/bland and slow in the game. Is this true?
Persuade me to get the game. Give me a reason why I should.

Sure, it'll keep you busy for a while. I got bored of it thogh

Edited by nightspark: 2/19/2013 5:46:34 PMIt's $40 on Amazon right now. Go for it. PC version give you tons of mods, however.

>2013 >Hasn't even played Skyrim >lelwut What are you doing JJ?!
-
Don't; - Bugs & Glitches - rubbish animations - poor textures - 5 or so voice actors (hope you like hearing the same VA over and over again!) - near to no unique weapons - terrible samey dungeons - horrible dull quests (aside from Dark Brotherhood quests) - appalling level scaling - many exploits can be found in smithing, enchanting and alchemy It's fun for the first hour or so, but after that it is just awful.

Edited by SlLVER CRlMS0N: 2/19/2013 5:41:26 AM
I've been looking to buy a new game.
I see.
Skyrim is pretty popular. What's so good about it.
Everything.
Persuade me.
It features literally infinite hours of content, branching story lines, great gameplay and meaty combat, and it has dragons. Plus you can send people flying off cliffs by yelling at them. Just make sure not to be silly like me and buy it on console, the PC version is much better due to console commands and mods.
I saw reviews(which rated the game very high) and gameplay.
Pretty glorious, wouldn't you say?
The combat looks very boring/bland and slow in the game. Is this true?
What? No! It's not slow! Nothing's slow about someone charging you with a sword, shooting arrows and lighting at you, or dragons breathing fire into your face.
Persuade me to get the game. Give me a reason why I should.
Well aren't you special? It is literally one of my favorite games, if not my favorite game, and I've played some amazing games. The story, environment, and characters are all interesting (except the children, get the child killing mod, you'll thank me later). The combat is tense, fun, and rewarding. The powers and progress you gain are satisfying. If you can get it on PC, the PC console commands are hilarious and the PC modding community it still going strong. Edited by JacobTheGreat2: 2/19/2013 4:25:28 AMHell yea! It is awesome. I recommend PC from Steam though. PC has the console commands and mods, and Steam's workshop makes it really easy to download mods, instead of the usual long process.
-
If you decide to get it, get the PC version, it has mods, console commands and less bugs.
-
If you are worried the combat isn't good, then rent it first. Otherwise definitely buy it. It is a TON of fun to play and explore.

Edited by K0lucc1: 2/18/2013 10:11:50 PMIMO, it is a big, beautiful addicting game. You'll be hooked. Combat is acceptable. My only issue with the game, or any game for that matter, is that once you've played it, you've played it. You know what's going to happen.
-
It's fun for a while while you're addicted (and you will be at first) but looking back it wasn't really that fun. Console is an alright buy, but better on PC. Not a bad purchase, but not a great one.
-
It's addicting when it's new for a good four-five months. I can usually play it consistently until around level 60. Then I get bored. But I have done 3 playthroughs that have most likely lasted me almost 400 hours. It's just in general an all around fun game
-
Because mods.
-
Buy it if you don't get bored easily and don't need guidance. The game practically throws you into the wild without you having any idea as to what the heck to do. You end up making choices that affect the outcome of events without even knowing you're making them. Buy Borderlands 2 instead. Handsome Jack 2016!
-
Hell yes, the game is amazing. Ignore that fool down there who thinks Skyrim belongs to the Nords, though. The Empire was there first.
-
You should have bought Skyrim. They're already here. The Elder Scrolls told of their return. Their defeat was merely a delay, 'til the time after Oblivion opened, when the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood. But no one wanted to believe, believe they even existed. And when the truth finally dawns... It dawns in fire!
-
Well if you buy it you need to understand only one thing: Skyrim belongs to the Nords, and the Nords alone.
-
I don't like it, but I rarely enjoy those kind of settings.
-
Most people I know thoroughly enjoy it. I myself don't find it very interesting, but whatever blows your nose, dude.
-
Can I just bribe or intimidate?

Do you like video games?
