I for one will ride my steed through the gates of Bungie and make them stop eating bagels and get to work.

There is still a great chance that Destiny will be coming out this year. We will probably know more once the new consoles have been announced. Since Destiny is confirmed to come out for the 360 and PS3, if the new consoles are releasing this holiday season, then Destiny is as well. If the new consoles are releasing next year, Destiny could release then instead. There's a good chance of both, but given the way Activision normally markets their games, and how the preorder and advertising boom has started so quickly, I'm thinking it will release late this year.

Edited by Spartan Ken 15: 2/18/2013 10:54:41 PMHalo Reach reveal - E3 2009 (released fall 2010) ODST reveal -September 2008 (released fall 2009) Halo 2 reveal - September 2002 (released Fall 2004) Destiny has probably been one of Bungie's longest developed games (someone from the studios told a reporter it has been in the works for almost 6 years now). They told us about 2 years ago they were working on a new game, they just announced their game officially yesterday. I really think the game should come out this year given the amount of time and resources they have spent on it. This game is also odd because they announced it themselves, at the beginning of the year, not in the summer or at E3. We have been waiting 2 years , I would hope the wait is not much longer. And how you can already pre-order the game plus all the advertising hints to the game being available very soon, not a year away.

There's evidence pointing to next year but... I'm still hoping this year. I am really, REALLY hoping this year...

The Bungie timeline wouldn't suggest so. They always reveal a game, then release it a year or so later. There's no reason why they would break out of that. Frankly, I prefer that they wait.
