I'm hopeful that it will carry mostly shooter mechanics with the added bonus of giving players a ton of customization in terms of gear, which I guess basically describes Borderlands. But I can't tell if the gear is going to be 100% cosmetic or will offer bonuses to different stats, since they haven't really described any sort of a leveling system. The idea of purely cosmetic gear is interesting, since there are very few games that will only give you a cosmetic change. I would almost prefer that since then you don't have to dig into the stats to decide if it's better or not, you can just equip it if you like how it looks.
