We know a decent amount about the Destiny universe with the release of the vidoc, but what significance does the logo have with the story? Halo's logo was... a halo. Reach's logo was Noble Team's insignia. What will the Destiny logo represent? A sort of flag representing the last city? A banner of the city's military? Feel free to speculate.

I think we all know its really Master Chief's crotch.
-
An alternative tricorn.
-
Three classes with the traveler on top
-
I always interpreted it as the three races protected by the Traveler.
-
Three points, three guardian classes, three races, three people per fireteam.
-
I've got it! You know the 7th Column symbol? Well doesn't this look kind of like a 4th column symbol? Maybe this means it's Bungie's 4th success!
-
The hat of a space pimp!
-
Symbol of the guardians.
-
Either the symbol for the guardians, the last city, or the traveler
-
Maybe the three ends of the tricorn represent the three classes. And the middle section... The Vanguard possibly? (This could apply since you can become a Vanguard whether or not you can pick it as a class). If it is not the Vanguard, I would bet it is the Traveler. With the combination of all 4, it represents the City.
-
3 classes?
-
I think the city is shaped like the insignia except that center part which represents the tower
-
it's three armies, and the dot is the traveler.
-
Either symbol for last city or symbol for guardians.
-
I think it's the symbol of the Last city for sure. At 1:08 on the Destiny gameplay reveal, you can see it on a banner on what appears to be the main governmental building. So it's safe to assume its to represent the last city.
-
I think its the symbol of the government like the flag or insignia
-
It's the symbol for humanity and the outreached arms represent hope .
-
Tricorn? The logo's a hat?
-
Stylin'.
-
yet to be determined.

Besides looking awesome I'd say its got more to do with the traveler than any factions or current enemies. Something to do with whatever almost stamped humans out.
