Another user on this forum pointed this out earlier, but I want to see some speculation on this. The Vanguard class. It obviously exists, according to the ign article, but nobody knows if it will make the final cut. I believe that there were a series of class "themes", wallpapers that were released by Bungie. These themes were significant because behind each class there was a respective "emblem", a geometric icon that represented the class. The vanguard character, shown at 1:18 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcMukb5x9MI/url] also has a geometric icon, but his does not match up with any of the ones shown in the class "themes" I described earlier.
This information is sufficient for most of us to acknowledge that there is a "vanguard" class. Vanguard means leading, to be at the forefront. So what do you think? Front-line "tank" that also provides various support for party members? Or a insane slayer/rusher class that does best with party support?
Edit: here's a thread with the aforementioned class icons http://www.bungie.net/7_Let39s-have-a-chat-about-Class-Implementation-in-Destiny/en-us/Forum/Post?id=59905278

That class is alright...

I would love a Vanguard Class since that's what I played in all the Mass Effect games..Hopefully Bungie will call it something different

I want a class where you are some type of cyborg, human, but mixed with parts of those sentry robots we've seen.

It seems that there will be quite a few more classes besides the unveiled 3, so I imagine we'll be able to join this and other unknowns.
