Thank god. What do you guys think about this?
-
Seems like more people realize it's a waste of time and money.
-
Its horse shit. They deserve to get jacked in the face by the statue of liberty for taking away from hard workers.
-
its bullshit, welfare shouldn't be used to get someone drugs, it should be to help the person make it to there next job. if the person cant get their priorities straight and take responsibility for themselves then they dont deserve welfare
-
It doesn't matter if we test them, since a person who buys drugs with welfare is gonna starve and that's one less person on welfare.
-
The assumption that those who are on welfare are druggies is incredibly insulting. We all recognize there are those who abuse the system (although I don't see how drugs factor in still), but it seems so many are oblivious to the fact that millions of Americans are genuinely struggling and rely on these safety-net programs.
-
Stupid. If other people are going to get my money through welfare than we have a right to know they arent using it on drugs.
-
Welfare itself oughta be struck down.

Nope.jpeg If someone wants to get high, they can get high OFF my parent's tax dollars.
-
what the -blam!-? people should be tested. if a crackhead can get drugs but does not want to work or buy food then it is his own damn choice to be a brokeass bum and he should not be supported by the state. nor should welfare cover gambling or alcohol.
-
I don't give a damn if a welfare recipient is buying Marijuana with their funds. What pisses me off is when it's a family of four, and the parents a spending it on drugs when the kids should be getting cloths and food.
-
OP is a phony
-
This guy is obviously just pretending to be an idiot. I'm not wasting anymore time here. (Or maybe he's just actually an idiot)
-
Were they going to test for coffee? Coffee is the most widely used psychoactive drug.
-
Well, it used $350,000 dollars annually to test under 2,000 people. Its a retarded waste of money.
-
OP is either 12 or a troll. Dope isnt weed you fukin idiot.
-
Should of passed, I know so many people who all they do with there welfare money is buy drugs and alcohol and nothing else. They dont look for jobs, hell one person I know willingly gained like 500lbs so they could get disability. Why the hell should my money go to people who wont even look for jobs and wont even help them selves.
-
Op is either a troll or a hippie. Perhaps both.
-
Less than 1800 participate. 45% are children. So, that means the drug testing would have only effected 990 adults. Would have been a waste of money. If they were going to pass something like this, they may as well test for tobacco, alcohol, and video game purchases, just to name a few. But they shouldn't because it'll be a waste of money.
-
What people here are forgetting is that leisure is a human right. And smoking weed is a form of leisure.
-
I think it really should have passed. If someone is going to use welfare money to purchase drugs, they definitely do not deserve it.
-
This should have been passed. Using tax payers money to fuel your drug habit? Well then -blam!- you you shouldn't be given money.
-
Edited by Goatman: 2/24/2013 9:21:25 PMI think it should have passed. No one should be using their government provided money to do illegal activities. And if you're poor and living off taxpayer money, you shouldn't be spending your money on things you don't need anyway. edit: troll confirmed, leaving thread.
-
I am kind of perplexed that you didn't expect people to be against you. Any person even close to being fiscally conservative will disagree with you especially if they dislike drugs or welfare in the first place.
-
I grew up in a family that abused the system, and used all the money they were given for drugs. None of the money was used to better our situation, and there were months where we even went without electricity and water just to support their drug habit. I was kinda looking forward for this policy or a policy similar to it to be passed.
-
Good, it didn't actually save money.
