Helping out the homeless? Giving people a place to stand? Doing good in this word? So long as it doesn't cost me a penny.
This mentality pisses me off. Why do people hate welfare? Because they have to chip in an extra ten or so dollars a month. God forbid you show some compassion. And yet we always toot the trumpet of "poverty is bad", and "goodwill toward all men on Earth". God, that's phony.
Anyone else agree?

compassion? I'm nice enough, but some people need to show that they will go far with my money. I only give if I know it will be spent well. It's a dog eat dog world out there and if you get caught up in compassion, you begin to find that things start to fall short, as I found when I was a college student.
