Hi guys, I'm writing an essay to persuade people to learn a musical instrument. I figured the easiest way for me to find rough statistics was to poll multiple sites, asking if music has improved your lives and, if so, how? Perhaps I'll even manage to get you guys going on a a serious reflection of your life, hahahaha.
Thanks for anybody willing to help out!
Cheers

I pirated a song and served 11 years in jail. Don't do music kids.
-
Effectively music is my life at the moment learning the drums. I already know how to play Gituar/Electric Gituar,Bass Gituar and THE RECORDER.
-
Yes. Music keeps me up, affloat. Rancid and The Clash are personal favorites.
-
Yeah, Music puts me in a good mind set. I tend to listen to a lot of Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Wale
-
Yeah, music makes me generally more happy and I find it a very enjoyable pass time.
-
It makes even the most mundane and boring activities bearable.
-
I luv dis song.
-
I wish I'd learnt how to play the electric guitar.
-
I fought off a mugger with an oboe once.
-
It makes me happy, I only listen to songs that aren't about bad things, meh, that's just me.
-
Good way to express oneself.
-
Whenever i'm in a bad mood or feel depressed i have to listen to this song. it literally reverses my mood.
-
Music hasn't affected my life at all.
-
When i'm walking from place to place, my music helps me do that without becoming bored. I get bored very easily.
-
Classical music is shown to improve concentration when doing certain tasks, like doing homework. But then again, I still just listen to Daft Punk
-
It gives me an escape. Sometimes I like to just plug some headphones in and not think about anything, not in some depressed way or anything. The world is a stressful place when you start thinking about what your going to do in the future and how you are going to cope. Music provides a quick fix like a drug but it wears off very quickly.

Kinda, but not really.
-
One of my life's regrets is never learning to play a musical instrument.
-
It gave me a way to do something productive and interact with people more. I actually played with some at the dudes at my church a few times.
-
It helped me make friends in high school band, I joined marching band and percussion ensemble and made a few great friends I otherwise wouldn't have even known. Music cheers me up when I'm down, helps me focus, and so much more.

Edited by Goatman: 2/28/2013 5:11:48 PMI was in high school band. It helped me make friends and kept me from living as a total shut-in in high school. Also, it gave me the opportunity to travel across the country(to New York, Texas, Florida, and Alabama at least). If any of that counts. Also, band helped me get in shape and be more coordinated.

Music is very powerful. There have been times where I've had a bad day and simply listening to a song would cheer me up. That right there shows you the power of music. Right now I'm learning guitar, so far listening to people play it, I honestly say I really love all styles of guitar playing. Shredding, metal solos, rock, flamenco, classical guitar, etc. I plan on being able to play all kinds of guitar styles.

Well I don't play any music, but I listen to it practically all day. It can be relaxing, energizing, inspiring, any number of things.
-
It makes life more enjoyable.

It's helped me think and calm myself yeah. Sucks that Pandora is being limited for free users because it was my main source of music.
