Deep Silver has announced the official release date of 4A Game’s Metro: Last Light on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The game will be available in the U.S. on May 14 and Europe on May 17. Metro: last Light was originally scheduled for a March release under its previous publisher THQ. However, the rights were bought by Deep Silver parent company Koch Media for $5.8 million back in January after THQ declared bankruptcy.
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary,” said Koch Media CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. “We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”
“We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise,” Deep Silver international commercial director Menno van der Bil added.

Edited by OptimusPrime 15: 3/2/2013 12:36:54 AMI'm amazed it didn't get cancelled even though it was close to done. Most gaming series don't survive a company's bankruptcy.

Like most this delay is disappointing, but considering the situation with THQ and their declared bankruptcy I'm glad that the game is still coming out.

Boo, more delays. At least Metro survived THQ's death, unlike Darksiders and Vigil.

Great, now it comes out during my finals week. Booooooooooooo
