Posted without comment, for now. What do you think of this video? Is it an ideal situation (the current one)? Is it wrong?

You know what? I think this is the first political thread we had today.

Edited by Egerspurge: 3/4/2013 6:22:18 AMThe only people that complain about "wealth inequality" are a bunch of jealous jerks whose skills aren't valuable to anyone. You want more money? Get a degree, take out a loan, start a business, get two jobs or three, invent something, get a trade, fix things. This is America and in America you have options. The world isn't going to give you free shit just because you cry loud enough.

Daaang, that really makes me feel poor. My parents and I would probably stack in the middle to upper middle class, but that still makes us look poor compared to a CEO.

Poor people are at fault for their own poorness. We should just let them waste away.

-blam!-ed up beyond belief. Yet people who aren't even in the top 20%, much less the top 1%, will fight tooth and nail to preserve the status quot. In part, if not almost entirely due, to the top 20% lobbying/buying Congress and political ads.

Personally, I think the military's got it down for how it should work, in a perfect socialistic system, with tiered paygrades. While everyone on one paygrade gets paid the same, the perks of managing to move up are still there, and the lowest level might not make much at all but they still make enough to live off of. Work hard, move up, get paid more and live better. Don't work near as hard, and sure you'll be able to afford the cost of living, but you aren't making much more. Capitalism isn't necessarily a bad ideology, it works, or did work at one point in time. Changes do need to be made, however, in a new era where technology is accelerating at an alarming pace and working with your hands isn't the best form of income. In today's world, to be connected and to have knowledge in either an IT or engineering field is the way to go. The fundamental idea behind capitalism is that everyone is competing to get on top, but it also relies on the fact that those on top still need to compete with those below them. In the modern realm, this doesn't happen anymore. A small business has no change against any of the giants. It's no different than playing on a server similar to gun game (or whichever it's called) where progressing and defeating someone gets you a perk. Eventually the person moves up enough to get 500x health and everything. While there's an initial fight, eventually someone will get to the point of doing so well, they become unstoppable. Then the rest of players can fight amongst each other all they want, but it just takes this person a pull of a trigger to swat the next person climbing up down. It's not an issue that can be fixed with current regulations and possibly can't be fixed at all. The only way to fix the issue is starting from square one and restarting the server, which realistically, isn't possible.
