I hope the nights are far more dangerous as when the sun shines..
Im talking about badass night creatures, the kind you will think twice to leave your cosy and save place to venture in to the de dark.
I want to have the feeling, that i need the quest done before sun down.. Otherwise i might get torn apart.
Im typing this with the movie "Pitch Black" in the back of my head, to give you guys a visual.
In Destiny, when its dark, you dont wanna go out allone if you are a lower level. You need to stay in a group, or find a group asap when the sun is no more..
-
you also need to consider that all the differn't planets will have differn't day and night cycles being that they have differn't orbits
-
That sounds like so much fun, btw: I loved that movie.
-
I think it would be interesting if certain enemies got stronger/more aggressive at night like space zombies, but also made drop rates increase slightly to make the risk worth it. I don't think it should be crazy tough at night everywhere though, got to let people enjoy the world at night as well.
-
That sounds cool and all but I'd rather be out exploring than hiding indoors when I'm a lower level. Forcing players to play in groups just to survive a night is a bit extreme.
-
I don't think it will be a simple day night cycle like minecraft. If you think about the modern world the majority of animals that live i the desert are nocturnal. So if there was a desert area I would expect to see more bad guys during the night their. Lizards are cold blooded which means that they need to warm up, so if there are lizard based bad guys I would expect the see their numbers/strength peak around midday.

A dark, stormy night in the middle of a forest, you're separated from your team, and you know that your next encounter has the chance of being your last. I wanna get that feeling.
-
Well, i think it might get boring indeed when its to dangerous to go outside during night, if this is the case on all the planets. But since there is space traveling, this might be cool on one world atleast.. Since, yes, like some of you said, wondering in the wild, during night, looking at the stars, and stuff like that.. is fun too indeed. Being torn apart doesn't fit that picture.. lol
-
A VERY dangerous night would be stupid, as most casual players would stay inside or skip to dawn (is that's possible)
-
While I understand the sentiment, I think the daylight is going to be just as rough as any night can be. Think about the story line, last remaining human city on Earth and a multitude of alien life trying to finish the job it started. Every place you go has a chance, regardless of being in a group or solo to run into a mob you just dont have a big enough gun for.

Edited by Kilo: 3/13/2013 6:38:55 PMThe only problem I have with that is some people on the other side of the world will be playing at night 90% of the time. Since it is a shared world I would assume that the time is the same for everyone so if it is night in the game it might be day where you live in real life so you would probably be playing at night every time you get on. I'd guess that the time Destiny is based off of will either be Pacific or zulu.

Edited by DEZARATH: 3/13/2013 6:29:22 PMWhile that makes things exciting, I sorta also want to wander at night and see the stars and night skies on different worlds as well without being accosted every six steps. Your critters should be far apart and making howling cues to allow players to beware before setting up camp, which reminds me I wouldn't mind the ability to set up a camp if Bungie places in some sort of sleep mechanic. But that's starting to go into serious RPGing.

You should be more concerned about me at night than animals.

Ocarina of Time Style.

I like this idea. It could bring an action thriller aspect to the game. I imagine getting backed up in a rocky nook with some friends blasting at hordes of incoming creatures that you can only see from glowing bodies and from the flashes of your gunfire.
-
Just imagine setting an ambush outside of the cave of some nocturnal badass
-
i just hope that night last just as long as day. night time in Forza: Horizon is too damn short. but its the best part. (/sadface)
-
That's a good idea.
-
I for one actually think it wouldn't be a bad idea. However, as an incentive to get players to venture out at night, they get better rewards then by doing so during the day. That way, people can stay indoors at night but if they're brave and want to be rewarded, they can grab some friends and head on out for some killing. Wouldn't be too bad of an idea for Bungie to consider in my opinion.

That sounds great but i also wonder if there will be dynamic weather changes one day rainy another day sunny etc in the same location

I would like to see some rare scenery events happening at night. Like an eclipse, shooting stars, Seeing spaceships far above in the sky zooming past (perhaps even having dogfights) . For something like Pitch Black, i think that is why they have the Moon.
