Since Google makes tons of money off of ads, it "makes sense" that they wouldn't want to encourage users of their products/services to have tools to block those income-producing ads.
So far, this is limited to Android devices, but I could see Google attempting to render Chrome less capable of blocking ads. IMO, it's probably just a matter of time.

Edited by A 3 Legged Goat: 3/14/2013 11:09:57 PMAds are distracting (especially flashy or audible ones) and when they're shown before your content it's an inconvenience. The majority of them are of no relevance to me either and that's why I usually avoid commercial TV and most streaming videos.
