I'm late to the whole party but I've been reading. Observing. Speculating a bit of my own.
I wasn't able to find much about the ARG since I'm an old n00b here, but it seems fairly obvious that the prose on each of the final images is referring to a celestial body in the Solar System.
Day One: Sol
Day Two: Earth
Day Three: Venus
Day Four: Jupiter
Day Five: Mercury
Day Six: Mars
Day Seven: Pluto
Alpha Lupi's post of "7 - Only the trusted few..." could have meant that only these seven planets will be featured in Destiny. Yet, each count down could allude to a Destiny of some sorts (ex: "2 - Pushed to this place for a reason..." means it was DESTINY to have been pushed there).
Only thoughts I have on what I know and have learned at the moment.
However, has anyone overlaid the Final Image mosaic over the Puerto Princesa map to look for correlating points or coordinates? maybe it's showing each planet or body's corresponding range of gravity; gravity well? "Something is falling towards you. Or are you falling towards it?" Also, Wikipedia interestingly enough said that Alpha Lupi is the Tenth Star of Imperial Guards in the Chinese Root constellation. The Traveler guards humanity, right?
So... Are we falling towards the Traveler? or is the Traveler falling towards us?

If by Jupiter you mean its moons then yes we will be able to visit Jupiter's moons but not Jupiter, The gravity there is so great that it would crush any ship or person into oblivion. And I think if we got to close to the sun we would die... But Venus is probable because it does have an atmosphere how ever it is filled with poisonous gas.

Good finds Daedalus. I think just the fact that Bungie can get us to look so deep into what they have shown already and come up with such interesting and enigmatic theories is a good sign in it self. This is going to be one hell of a game.

Or maybe it doesn't mean anything, but just sounds really, really cool.

Edited by XiYen: 3/18/2013 8:27:55 AMI wouldn't be surprised if those poems were alluding to planets, and if those are the planets we can visit, I'm stoked (though Pluto isn't a planet anymore, but oh well, it'll be awesome to go there in-game at any rate)! I also feel like I get wind of these things only after they've happened. Am I just blind? I'm on here a lot, but I never saw the Alpha Lupi account. *Sigh* I'll never be a cryptoanalyst. :(

inb4 the sun's not a planet
So... Are we falling towards the Traveler? or is the Traveler falling towards us?
Our galaxy'd have to be spinning mighty fast for a relatively stationary object situated near even Alpha Lupi to be in our backyard in half a millenia. I don't even know how you're thinking that's supposed to work. My point is that it has to have moved on its own.

I have no idea how we're going to be able to visit Venus or Mercury or the Sun for that matter, but if that is the full list of planets, I can't complain. More info on that would be nice though maybe.

Join our group seekers of destiny, we talk about this kind of stuff all the time! Many of us were on the bleeding edge of the most recent ARG.

Day 1 (Moon) - The poem doesn't have much information correlated to any planet. Day 2 (Mars) - The poem mentions red rock. Day 3 (Mercury) - The poem mentions one side that is hot, and one that is cold. Seeing as how Mercury is closest to the sun, it fits, there is also some concept art that leads me to believe Mercury will be playable. Day 4 (Jupiter) - Mentions it's the biggest body. Jupiter being the biggest planet in our solar system, this makes sense. Day 5 (Venus) - Talks of a hot ocean, this coincides with the concept art of Venus. Day 6 (Saturn) - The poem talks of many moons and comets, Saturn has a lot of moons, also it being a gas planet, it talks of the chaotic nature of the planet. Lighting and what not. Day 7 (Sun) - Talks about the burning blaze. I believe the poems are from the Traveler's perspective, not mankind's.

More accurate chart of the planets.

So here's a quick overlay of the Puerto Princesa map with the Final Mosaic. Done roughly by me in Photoshop, aligned by the compass in the top right corner. Any clues??

Edited by Hylebos: 3/18/2013 6:26:57 AMThe entire poem itself, while alluding to different planets and such, appears to be an elegant poem from Bungie to the Community. The final passage makes everything clear: Destiny is too far away to "Share it's heat", but it can be plainly seen... At the possibillity of a reveal our Joy builds and the first hope in ages transforms us... How we feel like telling every star that we are strong again... The trusted few alluded in the first passage would be those on us on Bnet quite possibly :)
