I know that often times, developers and gamers alike don't really care what the rating on a game is, but from what I've heard (all speculation of course), is that Bungie is aiming for a "T" rating for Destiny.
If this is the case, which I hope it isn't, it will be a huge mistake. The story for what Destiny is claiming to be, cannot be done justice if Bungie doesn't allow for the grit, violence, language, etc that would come with that setting, it can't be believable.
If the world is almost completely wiped out, and the human race is having to fight several other species in a last ditch effort to survive, you better bet that there will be "F bombs" dropped, there will be people being shot (meaning decent amounts of blood), etc.
Bungie, please, don't let yourselves be held back by a rating in order to get more sales. Make this game an "M" rated game. Anything less would be simply uncompelling and unbelievable, and would really detract from the story and mood that would be present should this situation in this game ever really happen.

We NEED M. Cheers!
-
A year old and still valid. Bravo, dude, wherever you are.
-
Edited by outlander: 2/10/2014 1:50:49 AMI just hope its M so that the game isn't plagued by hordes of prepubescent twelve year old kids who want you to join their supr awwwsum l33t mlg clan and qwick scwop sone no0bs with them.
-
Yeah, I mean I'd rather have it at a M rating because I'd like to keep a more mature community in it. It doesn't need swears and limbs flying every second but a little intensity would be good. Then again Bungie has never disappointed us!
-
Edited by PureTweakage: 3/10/2014 7:08:35 PMI heard about the t rumor too...and i fear it more than the t virus
achievement earned: worlds worst joke
Seriously though I agree Destiny needs an M rating...kids can.still play M with parental consent Edit: humanity is fighting for its very existence...I expect things to get messy...for that fact to be shoved in out faces...we are on the verge of being stamped out...it IS a mature setting
-
Lets all remember the main reason that halo was m. Sure there were f bombs and blood. But the thing that tipped the scale was... CORTANA!! I mean if thats not in destiny why make it m?
-
Edited by Zaharli: 6/19/2014 2:47:11 AMI think bungie should make destiny rated T because some people can't play rated M.
-
I really don't give two shits about whether or not it is M or T. I'm still going to buy it regardless or rating. The graphics look amazing as well as the gameplay. Also I am a bit of a Bungie fanboy :)
-
Nobody should really care if this game is rated T or M. I really don't care what the rating is because I pre-ordered it. This game looks amazing. The point of the game is to play and become legend. That's what DeeJ is trying to tell us.
-
I wish the US would just use the PEGI rating. Destiny could be 15-16, which would deter little kids, but not suffer the potential drop in sales.
-
Why not rate it E?
just kidding... A T rating wouldn't be bad dark souls 2 was rated T and that game is intense
-
There have been loads of T games with great and gritty stories, a prime example of this is the uncharted series, you are worrying over nothing, it doesn't need an M rating at all.
-
Not it doesn't, we need a solid FPSMMMORPGACTIONADVESRBT if you know what I mean.
-
bungie please make this T... i have lots of freinds that want this but. if its M none of my freinds will be able to get. please like and if possible senfd to bungie

Edited by TheBlackPlague26: 6/13/2014 6:41:56 PMI think Destiny should be rated teen because it produces more sales which in turn gets them more buyers and more money. Also, every kid cant play a m game, you can still have a good game without having it being a m rating besides on the video gameplay trailer I dont see any gore or excessive blood. If bungie wants to really set the bar for this game and set or break a record it should be rated teen. Besides they over use F bombs in a sentencein most m games that Ive experience and sometimes they say it into a sentence just to here thereselves and most of the time it doesnt make since. From a business standpoint its a win win and to back that up look at naughty dog with the drake uncharted series, bungie should really consider this.

This game must be rated T for Teen. If not, lots of hoping fans will be let down. I personally think that a large amount of people who really want these types of games, aren't 17. Most of these comments are asking for this game to be T, not M... BUNGIE, please make this game T and your argument is INVALID.....SYSTEM SHUTDOWN....BEEP...whhrrrrr...
-
Rated T for "TotallyAwesome!"
-
Please dont make it M. I have been following this game from the beginning and would hate not being able to play it
-
This game NEEDS a T rating, not an M one. Me as well as a few of my friends have been following this game for awhile and if it gets an M rating we wont be able to play it, and that would suck.
-
Destiny doesn't really seem like the type to have the necessity of swearing, at least not as much as Halo did. I don't think it'll be a mistake at all, it seems like it'll be a great game without swearing. I honestly hope it doesn't have that much, if any at all. In my opinion, I feel it would have a negative affect on my experience, but that's just me. Of course its understandable if there was an endangering moment, such as their ship about to be blown out of space.
-
You don't have to have an M rating for it to be a good game, if you want a game like you are describing then go play some other fps that fits your needs like battlefield or CoD but swearing is not necessary for a game like this. Let BUNGIE decide the fate of this game's rating because they have a better idea of what would make it better.

Needs T
-
Destiny needs an E rating
-
Do you ever wonder how Reach and 4 were rated M? I mean it feels right but you know there's blood and violence in many T games.
