My I.D is now my real first and last name, and I know this will result in some consequences. Nonetheless, I would like to explain myself.
I think the main rule of the internet is that you can say what you want safely behind a computer screen and get away with it. That's why we have aliases. But, I believe that what I say from here on out will hold much more merit with my real identity behind it.
What do you think about e-anonymity? Would you be willing to do the same thing as me?

WHAT? YOU'RE NOT THE GUY IN THE PROFILE PICTURE. I finally thought I'd found you MARTY! One day I will exact my vengeance; even if I now know most of the people I have gathering information on are doppelgangers, I will find you! BTW, He ate my yoghurt (I think) and that's why I want revenge. Other suspects are Billy Joel, Richard Gear and Doc. Green

How about, uh, you give us your credit card details? ;)
-
Thats very brave of you. *googles OP's name*
-
That's a bad idea OP. I used to use my name for everything but I had second thoughts. Once you get a job and know they'll be watching you and looking to see what you do on the internet. (major companies do this with facebook). You're one google search away on bungie.net from someone looking you up.
-
cool story broski.
-
No thanks, but good for you.
-
I see your point OP but I've seen more shit posted on Bungie's facebook page than I have here. I guess it depends on the individual.
-
It's kind of funny to think about this in that sense. I've been on this website for countless years and people know who I 'am'. However, I think about if they know my name. . . Meh.
-
No one cares, shadows.
-
I don't see the purpose of making my screen name any less dull than John Doe.

Edited by CAMMCAM: 3/21/2013 10:29:15 PMOnly to a selected few. I honestly don't think that I have to share a name I was born with for others to hear what I have to say. I know that what I say has merit. Doesn't matter if someone doesn't feel the same.

van wee lol

I have one of the most common names in existence. It would serve no purpose for me to reveal my name really. Besides, I hate my name.
-
Internet anonymity and privacy are something I value very much. I refuse to use Facebook and Google, I don't say my name on here, I have before not thinking about it which I dislike, and I use all sorts of ways to keep my keep my computer more secure and privacy oriented as well.
Would you be willing to do the same thing as me?
I have been for the past few years. It doesn't take a mad stretch of the imagination to guess my first and last name from my ID.
-
Do you really look like Marty O'Donnel?
-
Yeah it's called social networking, e.g. Facebook.
-
I doubt you will suffer any adverse effects as a result of this.

My first and middle name is Steven Tyler.
