Fire Congress. Confiscate their wages, their pensions and their benefits. All of them. At the same time. If we try to piecemeal it, the current ones will just infect the newer ones.
It's clear to me that they are not serving their constituents but rather serving whatever unions, businesses or lobbyists pay for their vote.
How many more times do we have to have our credit rating degraded because both sides refuse to cooperate on what NEEDS to be done while ignoring the will of the people? How lower does the approval rating have to go? It's already in the single digits last I heard. How much more do we need to hear about X looming on the horizon only for both parties in Congress to dig their trenches and just lob whatever twisted statistics and quotes taken out of context at the other party before going on a week long vacation? How much more out of touch do they need to be with the average American?
They are clearly failing at their job. We need to do what any sane person running a business would do: Fire them.

What Country? Oh, America? Nope. All is lost.

Wow, a post of yours I can't possibly agree more with. Have you always felt this way, or have I been having an influence?
-
Sounds like the first step to securing a dictatorship.

Or we could just simply pull all our corporations out of China so that our economy will skyrocket and China's economy completely collapses. Gotta love killing two birds with one stone. Seriously, why doesn't Congress do this? Do they have their heads so far up their asses that they can't see a simple solution such as this one?

Edited by aTALLmidget: 3/25/2013 5:56:57 AMHere's the problem: Half the country is basically brainwashed into believing the liberals are the problem and conservatives should be the only ones in charge, and the other half thinks vice versa. Total governmental reform is needed, but the mainstream media and the politicians have the majority of the sheep in the palm of their hands, playing them perfectly like puppets. If this was proposed, all that would happen is "THE LIBERALS ARE THE PROBLEM!" (my father, an avid Fox News fan) or "NO, THE REPUBLICANS ARE GREEDY WARMONGERS LOL". Both parties need the shit slapped outta' them. Here's what I propose: OH RUSH LIMBAW, I PRAY TO THEE, RESURRECT RONALD RAY-GUN, SO THOU SHALL SMITE ALL WHOM OPPOSE THINE DIVINE LAW! PRAY TO RUSH LIMBAWWWWWW, WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER

This isn't anything new, although teh puma isn't completely against it.

I prefer a congress that does nothing than one that passes laws. I'd rather have them start repealing laws that are obsolete. They should focus on reviewing the ones we have now and actually read them and decide if they are truly necessary. A new law every now and then might be necessary as things change but they don't need to make thousands of new laws a year.
-
One does not simply fire congress.
-
nah man. That'd actually make sense.
-
We don't have to fire congress entirely. The people need to reform it.
-
The problem is that your plan reeks of common sense and has a distinct lack of buzzwords and fear-mongering, it'll never work!
Fire Congress.
Doing this is already a great job. Replace them with people that can actually work together.
