Yes, this is based on that other thread. Since the Flood has its share of RPG addicts and video game experts, I figured I would make a thread specifically where people who are having trouble in Dark Souls (like me) can ask questions and get some help.
Well, Flood. What do you say?
First question is from me:
My character sucks something fierce. I can't even get through the Valley of Drakes, so I'm contemplating just creating a new character. The problem is, I don't know how to make a good character for Dark Souls, or what to pick or what weapons to use. This is where you come in. Help me suck less at Dark Souls, Flood.
Sorry, put it in a comment the first time. My (probably awful) stats added to the OP...

So far, I've done the Undead Burg, the weird squid kind of thing, the dragon with the teeth on its stomach, that thing with the dogs and butcher knives, and that big thing that shoots lightning near the blacksmith. I can't remember what any of them were called. So, how bad have I screwed up so far?
EDIT: So, what stats should I work on next? What needs to be leveled up?

You really can't have a 'bad character.' Dark Souls can be beaten at level 1. It's all about the gear you use. Personally, I never wear enough armor to where I cannot do a quick roll, or ideally the flip. I love fast movement, but I also have a huge weapon. Parry with a Dragon's Axe and you're golden. There is no real reason to enter the Valley of Drakes. I personally recommend shooting them from afar with a bow if you want to go in, but that's not a good place to judge you on. Say where you are in the actual story, what you're using, and your stats. That's how you tell what's what.
