Here's the final score from the info released today concerning Adam Lanza from a great LA Times article:
154 shots of .223 fired from Bushmaster AR-15 at Sandy Hook Elementary from unspecified quantity of magazines.
Found on Lanza's person:
3x30 round magazines (all full) of .223 ammo
14 rounds in magazine left in Bushmaster
1 round in chamber of Bushmaster

Found at home:
1,400+ rounds of ammo

The amazing thing is that he could have fired off at least 105 more .223 rounds and an untold number of pistol rounds before he killed himself.
I know that overall, assault rifles account for a very small number of total gun homicide deaths, but is that really an excuse to let this kind of stuff continue? I mean, it's ridiculous to allow people access to 30 round magazines, unlimited ammo, and military style rifles.

Are you saying that I actually AM, batshit nuts due to my choice? Are you saying that the object is what made Lanza a depraved killer? Are you saying that it is the potential of the firearm that makes it dangerous and something that no one should have? Please let me know what you are trying to get at because if you are trying to make a point about Bushmaster AR's... it may be a clear point to you (in your head where this all makes sense) but you are not explaining your point either clearly or concisely enough for me to see it. PS: more "killers" choose handguns. Your subject line is false. If I recall correctly either .25 ACP or 9mm pistols are the "weapon of choice" in most firearm violence. But I understand, you're emotional and so, you wanted to make an attention getting subject line.
