Shortly after Destiny was officially revealed, DeeJ changed his avatar from his trusty revolver to a mysterious symbol that featured many black squared arranged into an Octagon Pattern. We were able to link his Avatar to the Character Select Scene from the Vidoc (pictured on the right), but today when I was rewatching the Destiny Character Development video, I noticed DeeJ's symbol again, this time on the magazines of the Hunter's and the Warlock's Rifles. More importantly, the symbol was accompanied by the word "FOTC", a word we had previously seen on rifles, and presumably they are a weapons producer in the Destiny Universe.
It's pretty minor, but I'd thought I'd point it out.

Violet also drew a connection between DeeJ's avatar and FOTC a while back, and that speculation is proven convincingly with these newest screens.
I like bumping old things

My guess is that FOTC is the main group that all the Guardians are part of. like in Halo, Master Chief is part of the UNSC, the Guardians might be part of the FOTC.
-
If you wish to give credit where it's due, I noticed this over a month ago.

Flight of the Conchords please.

FOTC Fist of the Cabal Maybe not ALL Cabal are completely hostile, you MAY be able to barter with the less warmongery of them.

Edited by Oddball: 3/30/2013 1:47:53 AMThanks for the mention :p I had an idea that I touched on briefly in another thread; what if what we see here is the product of some sort of Logo Creation Tool? As you can see in Deej's emblem, there would be a 7 by 7 grid of dots. You can toggle these dots to be black, white or invisible, for instance you can see that Deej has the outermost 3 dots of each corner invisible and his centre dot white. You can then apply this logo to your gun, it might also explain why we saw it in the character selection scene. As for the FOTC, could this be a four character service tag, the likes of which we have seen previously in ODST? Just a bit of wild speculation of course, but I think it would be cool to have a unified emblem across bungie.net, the game interface and in the actual gameworld itself. Edit: I forgot to mention, Hylebos, nice Paint skills :p

Edited by CaptKrunch: 3/31/2013 6:14:16 PMDidn't the Halo Reach loading screen(as in searching for a match screen) make these shapes like diamonds out of arrows and such? Could they be connected?

The word "assault R or 2" is written on the ejector port side of the weapon ( just a note).
-
Flight of the Conchords! Sweet!
-
Good find.
-
I thought they were a faction
-
Is it a faction or a gun manufacturer? Destiny doesn't seem like the kind of game with gun manufacturers, though.
-
It also posted this reply, to a reply in the Character Development Video. Nice find though by the people who spotted it.

This thread is arbitrary ... just playing with you ;) Seriously though this is all speculation and this thread already exists.
-
Could the "FOTC" be referring to something like"ODST" ? At 0:48, I can't tell if that's text or just lines?
-
Or is FOTC DeeJ's faction?
-
Good catch.
-
I wonder if the colors being inverted means anything.
-
What if that is just DeeJ's personal symbol?
