As you may know, originally Will Smith was offered the role of Django in Django Unchained and he turned it down. What if he hadn't? Do you think the movie would be the same had Smith played the role?
I personally am glad they ended up going with Jamie Foxx. While Will Smith is a great actor, I don't feel it'd be the same movie without Foxx playing the character. He did a great job in the role.
What do you think? If you could recast the role of Django, who'd you choose to play him?

Did you hear why he didnt take it? Not enough screen time he wanted the script altered so he could be on the screen more. Guy has a crazy ego. Hell tom cruise had a cameo in tropic thunder. Will Smith comes across as a little bit of a douche

Will Smith needs to let some other black people be actors.

Agree with you there. With Smith as Django, he would have completely dominated whatever shot he was in, because of his fame and also his physical height. Foxx was cast perfectly - not 'obscure', but not so AAA it detracted from his performance.

I honestly though Jamie Fox did not perform up to par, being overshadowed by literally every other supporting actor in the film (Christoph Waltz, Leonardo Dicaprio, Samuel L. Jackson). With Smith I think the film would have been much better.
