[quote]Warner Bros. Montreal is making the game, taking the mantle from Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the critically-acclaimed first two. You can see one of the villains, Deathstroke, make an appearance on the back of the Game Informer cover pictured above.
The game's plot involves eight of the world's deadliest assassins coming to Gotham City on Christmas Eve. Their target: Batman, of course. The game takes place on the streets of Gotham, according to the developers, who hyped the game in a video on Game Informer's website.
There's also a handheld spin-off called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for 3DS and Vita, a 2.5-D Metroid-style game developed by Armature Studios, the development house made up of ex-Retro staffers who worked on Metroid Prime.

Edited by Snowy: 4/10/2013 10:57:23 PMI'm a little bit disappointed, as I was expecting arkham underworld, but what ever. it looks like death strokes model is the same as his in injustice gods among men, just a place holder maybe?

The magazine scans leaked and some stuff is confirmed. The major 2 are that the grappling hook will work more like the one in Just Cause 2 in that you can connect 2 items together. Second and most disappointing is that HALF the map will just be a modified (not destroyed) Arkham City map.

I still don't get the appeal of these Batman games...

It looks alright.... I liked Arkham Asylum a lot.

I have problems with this. 1. No Rocksteady =worry 2. "Origins"? Real creative there guys 3. "All of Gotham" as a playground sounds good on paper but its not a smart choice 4. A prequel? Really? 5. Having the "Arkham" title is retarded as it doesn't take place there

Oh hey it's Slade!

Here's some more pictures. Black Mask and Penguin(before he got the bottle stuck in his eye) will be in it.

Seems like it's just being made so Warner Bros can make a quick buck. It will have the same gameplay as in the previous games with free roam across all of Gotham so I'm definitely going to get it. I just hope they don't ruin the story AND NO JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!!!

I like where this is heading so far. One of my favourite DC villains Deathstroke is in it, and we have all of Gotham to explore. The fact that Rocksteady aren't developing it is a bit disconcerting, but not completely off putting. I'm enticed though.

Is this the next Batman installment? After Arkham City (which I -blam!-ing love!), I thought and heard that the next game was Batman: Gotham City.
-
I think it will be interesting for Bruce to face down the Joker for the first time.

Edited by OptimusPrime 15: 4/9/2013 4:39:14 PMMakes me pissed off I always get my gameinformer weeks late. Seriously? New Batman game info in it and I have to wait an extra few weeks for new info.. well shit. I should have them email it to me. I'm more concerned about who is voicing Deathstroke. RON PERLMAN NAO! And Joker... John Dimaggio did an amazing job in Under the Red hood. But if Mark Hamill changes his mind that would be awesome too.

Also OP Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate was announced as a 3DS and PS Vita companion game and is a 2.5 Metroidvania style game.

Edited by Toa Axis: 4/9/2013 3:25:14 PMDeathstroke!! *Squee* However, no Rocksteady. This could be... Problematic
