Should halo be referenced in destiny
I believe that in a brand new game bungie should not forget a big part of there heritage, as they did with the marathon symbol in halo. Yes I believe no mater how little or hard to find it is that there should be a halo Easter egg in destiny, perhaps a crashed hog, a unsc fire base, John 117 "grave site" (halo 3). But however small I believe bungie should remember Spartans never die!!!117

1 ReplyOf course. Bungie's always referenced their other games in Halo, I see no reason why it shouldn't be in Destiny. 343 wouldn't mind at all.

Of course due to copyrights they couldn't EXACTLY reference Halo, but they have to subtly. They HAVE to.

I don't think Microsoft will allow them to put halo references because of 343 copyrights.(I could be wrong). Although the "Spanker" was popularized in Halo, but it actually originated in Marathon. You can't take the sky from me, Microsoft. Also, there better be a Misriah Depot Mars. That's all I want. Both have Marathon Duality.

5 RepliesKids in the last city holding plus dolls of arbiter master chief, cortana, and others and when u find them all u get an achievement or trophy on ps (sorry ps users i don't play ps much so if I'm wrong about it being a trophy please correct me luv and peace from a Xbox fan) Then another with the USS infinite (sorry if this isn't the name of one of the ships I've been up for the past 28 hours) and again unsure of a name.

Probably not.. and they could maybe get sued if it is too obvious that it is about Halo. New world, new stuff, but I would not really mind.

No halo! This is a new universe. Everyone knows halo was great. We don't need something in the game to reference it, if we miss halo we can still play it. Get what I'm saying?

Absolutely not. Although I wouldnt count Bungie out....they always like surprises. I'm saying no because whenever Halo is mentioned in a Bungie interview they (Bungie) always stress how they've moved past that now and are onto bigger and better things. Having anything that links them backwards I feel like would hold them back. Bungie wants to find out if they can make something bigger than Halo (as stated in the vidoc) , and including references in Destiny to it wouldnt really show that.

I've posted this in 2 other posts but my idea of a halo easter egg is being able to explore space (my ideal vision is that of how you explore space in the mass effects games) where you find a secret area in which you see a "space ring" and a ship near it that you can board to find a friendly MC looking NPC thus referencing the Halo: CEs' ending

it would be cool if the unsc forward unto dawn was just floating around in space and if you went on it you could find chief in cryo sleep and you could pick up the halo 3 Assult rifle. or if you found one of the halo rings.

That spartan gravesite sounds fantastic like im in the aims of Africa and you see a crashed pelican wing and carves in it is 117

I think it would be really cool to look up and see a halo ring in the sky at night next to the moon or maybe have UNSC written on a vehicle or something small but meaningful like that.

I think that some of these ideas are good... however this late in the development of the game with only a few months to the release make most of them impractical. I would however, love to see some sort of "chief camo" or the ability to wear a recon or mark 5 helmet on your character. Maybe change it up and wear a spartan armor under a cloak or something.

Yes! It should def make reference! They deserve it! The suggestion below is fantastic. Have a leader of a "117th devision" be named John. Some ideas: "Before the fall of humanity we'd been working on new ways to combat the inevitable... *pans to mc looking armor* however we were nothing until the travelers arrival." Halo novel found in a corner in a library somewhere in the city. Radio playing one of Marty's old tunes off somewhere
